Langland Road Bed & Breakfast Review

Langland Road B&B Review, Places to stay in Swansea

Located on Langland Road in the charming Mumbles area of Swansea is an equally charming B&B run by David and Giles. If you're due to take a Wales adventure in Swansea Bay, it's a perfect place to stop off for a few days having been awarded four stars from Visit Wales.
As mentioned in my earlier blog I stayed here as guests of Visit Swansea Bay, however I was really impressed and wanted to shed a little more light on it for you.

Rooms in Langland B&B Mumbles Swansea

After being warmly welcomed in and promptly shown to our rooms we were really taken back by how generously sized and well equipped they were. As an Edwardian Villa I was expecting something more compact with a traditional feel.

This B&B however has five en-suite rooms (above is my room, #3 at the front of the property) with wifi access and modern furnishings. It offered everything you could want for a comfortable stay including; soft rolled towels with soaps, a good sized wardrobe with interior lighting, sofa and coffee table, large television and dvd player, hairdryer, hot drink station and local tourist maps and guides.
My bed was also firm but clean and comfortable and extra pillows or blankets are provided.

I was joined on my Swansea trip by fellow blogger Miss Nicklin and her adjacent room had a similar flag theme with a fitting beach-shack feel (giving our coastal location).

The large bathroom was very impressive with an overhead shower, deep bath tub and a rather futuristic looking egg shaped toilet. The mirror lights, towel radiator and shiny mosaic tiles completed it's luxuriousness.

It's not just the style I was impressed by, the little touches the owners added made all the difference. I like to keep hydrated so really appreciated having two bottles of water waiting for me.
I also have quite the sweet tooth and loved the locally sourced sachets of hot chocolate, tea bags, biscuits and chocolate squares on our pillows. Coffee and sugar is also provided and milk (both regular and lacto-free) available all hours in the breakfast room downstairs.

Breakfast was served between 8-9:30am in their dedicated front room on the ground floor with check out time being 11:00am.
Again I was impressed by the variety with fresh fruit, cereal, yogurts and brownies on offer as well as cooked breakfasts off the table menu.

In this room you'll also find lots of leaflets for local attractions, a 'little shop' offering local welsh goodies like welsh brew tea, and DVDs should you wish to take and watch in your room.

The hot food presentation and quality was really good and we felt well fuelled for another day of #SwanseaBayAdventures. You can see what we got up to during our stay by clicking here.

It's good to also know each room has a booklet containing everything you need to know, from emergency numbers to fire action and the history of the B&B (once featured on Channel 4's Four In A Bed).
You're free to park along Langland road after 4pm for as long as you like until 10am the next morning (two hour limit during the day).
For all day free parking they suggest parking nearby on Queen's road.

Local attractions include: Caswell Bay, Oystermouth Castle and Newton Road with shops and caf├ęs.

A one night stay will currently cost around £80-90 (or £60 for single occupancy of a double room), good value for an experience that I'd have been happy to pay for myself. Not only did we like our stylish rooms and well thought out little extras, we also really liked the warmth and friendliness of the owners.
