Yesterday was the opening of the “largest outdoor Christmas Market in Britain”. Birmingham was all aglow with 180 adorned cabins serving up all sorts of goodies direct from Germany.
Right in the heart of the city, it’s an ideal place to fill up on burgers, beer, and not forgetting – festive cheer!
The hustle and bustle of New Street leading up to the main square. It’s an amazing atmosphere; the air mixed with aromas of toasting nuts, chocolate and crêpes!
“When in Rome”: It would be silly not try a very meaty German burger, served with sliced potatoes and garlic sauce. Groß!
I also couldn’t resist buying some marshmallows to take home – so many flavours to treat family and friends (or yourself) too! They were 50p each or 12 for a fiver.
The northern side of the Square leads up to the Craft Fair selling rugs, bags and other handmade gifts.
The market is open until the 22nd December. If you’d like some more information, you’re welcome to leave a comment, or visit Birmingham Council’s website.
