The palatial Casa Delmonte T.I hotel in Palma de Mallorca is a family-run business located in the heart of the city’s old town.
Built between a convent and monastery, Casa Delmonte’s ambience is tranquil, ideal for older couples and adults who enjoy peace and quiet with a secluded summer garden to roam around.
The History
The family home-turned-hotel came into the hands of the current owner (Miguel) from his grandfather, a famous bull fighter in his day, his wife (a passionate antique collector) began furnishing their home with stunning sculptures, art and elaborate furnishings.
Indeed walking around the property is more like exploring a museum and the drawing rooms are fit for royalty.

I adore Palma’s patios (or courtyards), they make such a grand first impression with their sweeping staircases, water fountains and statues. Casa Delmonte’s has one of the finest examples of this classic style.
There’s only 7 hotel rooms here, so having your own time and space is easy to come by.
The Triple Room
I stayed in a triple room that consisted of 2 double bedrooms, bathroom and a large terrace overlooking the garden. Water bottles, fresh fruit, toiletries and towels were provided and it was thankfully very cool in the hot July weather.
As with the rest of the property, the features inside the rooms were full of character and tea and coffee were provided free of charge downstairs in the lounge, along with refrigerated drinks billed at the end of your stay.
The Essence of Silence
One evening we were invited to try a tea tasting by one of the hosts, Sara, who demonstrated how easy it is to make an iced tea. I enjoy hot tea but tend to not drink it much on a summer holiday, so I really enjoyed how refreshing and fragrant this was.
‘The Essence of Silence’ invites you to take a time out from your busy day for a moment of stillness, it’s worth keeping an eye on their social media as the new business has ambitions to expand their offering into more hotels and include activities like yoga.

As mentioned, Casa Del Monte is located in the old town so you’re within each reach of many famous landmarks for sightseeing, as well as an array of dining options.
Dining Options
Most mornings we went around the corner to Rosevelvet Bakery, their egg breakfasts were highly rated and didn’t disappoint.
Nearby is also Mark Fosh, one of the most highly acclaimed Michelin star restaurants in the city.
Other options include; Es Rebost for a lovely lunch and the stunning Cappuccino Grand Café.
Tourist Attractions
The hotel is just off La Rambla, a leafy commercialised street similar to the one in Barcelona of the same name. You can also catch the bus from here down to the beach or Bellver Castle.

I was so impressed by the palatial Casa Delmonte, it really is a hidden gem and the owners were so welcoming and friendly. If you love antiques, you’ll adore this hotel and they still own two antique shops nearby.
