Wally’s Deli & Kaffeehaus in Cardiff has been serving customers in the city for many years, with the owner’s family history stretching back decades to a small village in Austria. Whether you’re seeking Greek olives, Belgian chocolates or Welsh cheese, Wally’s is a treasure trove of world produce with a Viennese Kaffeehaus on the floor above.

Tempting options on Wally’s Kaffeehaus menu included a traditional Frankfurter lunch, and the ‘Tyrol’; chicken, chorizo, peppers, olives, rocket, garlic mayonnaise on rye bread with potato salad (pictured below without olives and chorizo on request).

Presented as an open sandwich, the colourful, abundant ingredients were on full display. Drink of choice for this visit was a Columbian-sourced hot chocolate that came with a spiced biscuit.

The deli downstairs has a charming character like the retro shops featured you’d imagine to find in the realm of Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory. Located in Royal Arcade, Wally’s Deli sits alongside other independent retailers, including Spillers Records in Morgan Arcade – the oldest record shop in the World!
